the efficiency of irrigation systems, sprinkler irrigation in khorramabad
Authors
abstract
todays, productivity and efficiency of irrigation have been in the center of the many water-related issues. by using sprinkler irrigation systems in addition to watering easier and automatic, that is a device for raising water application uniformity and efficiency which ultimately will save water consumption and production increase. in this study, four fixed irrigation systems of khorramabad city were selected, tested and evaluated. values of application efficiency (ae), combination efficiency (ec), potential efficiency in low quarter (pelq), application efficiency in low quarter (aelq), adequacy irrigation (adirr), wind and evaporation losses (wdel) and deep percolation losses (dp) in solid set systems are 56.82, 59.86, 47.21, 45.71,81.64, 13.12, 30.09, respectively. measured parameters were less than expected. all systems have a low applicability and combined efficiency. high losses caused reduction of applicability and combined efficiency. in one system, the irrigation was done completed, but deficit irrigation in other systems caused equality of application efficiency potential with application efficiency.

Estimation of Actual Evapotranspiration, Water productivity, and Irrigation Efficiency of Wheat Fields in Surface and Sprinkler Irrigation Systems Using Remote Sensing
In arid and semi-arid regions, water resource management and optimization of applying irrigation water are particularly important. For optimization of applying irrigation water, the estimated values of actual evapotranspiration are necessary for avoiding excessive or inadequate applying water. The estimation of actual crop evapotranspiration is not possible in large areas using the traditional ...
full textSprinkler Irrigation: a Voc Remediation Alternative
A sprinkler irrigation system was tested to assess its efficacy for volatilizing organic chemicals in pumped groundwater. In field tests involving the analysis of more than 250 samples collected from beneath a spray irrigation system, removal rates of ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1,1,2-trichloroethylene (TCE), 1,1,1-trichloroethane (TCA), and carbon tetrachloride (CT) in samplers placed 0.5 m abov...
full textTechnical evaluation of sprinkler irrigation systems implemented in Khorram Abad city
The lack of water resources in Iran has increased concern about water consumption in the country. The agricultural sector is known as the largest sector of water consumption, and saving in this sector will save significant water resources. One of the solutions for the optimal use of water resources is the use of modern irrigation methods with proper design and implementation. Therefore, the pur...
full textEffects of alternative sprinkler irrigation parameters on pesticide movement
The relative reduction in potential ground-water contamination due to pesticides at several sites in Utah was determined by comparing alternative irrigation system designs, water management practices and pesticides. Alternative sprinkler irrigation distribution coefficients were used to estimate infiltration depths. The movement of pesticides through soils following sprinkler irrigations was si...
full textImpact of Sprinkler Irrigation Amount on Peanut Quality Parameters
Peanut quality parameters were analyzed across four irrigation levels during the 2002 through 2007 crop years. The peanut quality parameters consisted of total sound mature kernels and sound splits (farmer stock grade), shelling outturn by commercial edible size, accept and reject kernels by commercial edible size, seed germination, and aflatoxin. The four irrigation levels consisted of a full ...
full textLeaching of three imidazolinone herbicides during sprinkler irrigation.
Some imidazolinone herbicides have been shown to be mobile in soil, raising concern about their possible movement to ground water. Three imidazolinone herbicides (imazamethabenz-methyl, 497 g ha(-1); imazethapyr, 14.7 g ha(-1); and imazamox, 14.7 g ha(-1)) commonly used in crop production on the Canadian prairies were applied to a tile-drained field to assess their susceptibility to leach when ...
